Kalaba Water Well

Kalaba Water Well Project

The only water supply for the Kalaba community is the Kalaba River which is miles away and of poor water quality. The Kalaba River occasionally dries up in the heat of the dry season. As with many places in Africa, the water sources are of poor quality and waterborne diseases are prevalent. In the Summer of 2024, a deep well was drilled with 2 large storage tanks and a water dispensing system. Just like in the village of Jangaru, this well is life changing for 5,000 people. The pump is powered by a solar system. The total cost of the entire system was just a little under $8,000.
